Fundraising great Paul Hobbs presents Meningitis UK with a cheque for £10,000 raised through ‘The Summer Stroll 2006’
Fundraising legend Paul Hobbs will be presenting Meningitis UK with a cheque for £10,000 which was raised through the Summer Stroll 2006, kindly sponsored by Edward Ware Homes. The stroll took place in July when supporters of the charity joined Paul in walking from Bath Rugby Club to Bristol Rovers Memorial Ground. Supporters of the charity including Glen Catley, former World Boxing Super - Middleweight Champion will be attending the presentation.
Although successful vaccines exist to protect against some forms of meningitis, there is still no vaccine to protect against all strains of the disease, including the most common - Meningitis B.
Meningitis UK rely entirely on charitable donations so raising funds is crucial in enabling the charity to continue working towards preventing these diseases.
Paul Hobbs said "I'm so pleased to announce that due to the massive success of this year's event I am organising a ‘Summer Stroll 2007' which will follow the same route as this year's extravaganza and will take place on Saturday 30th June 2007. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again for another memorable and successful day."
Steve Dayman, Chief Executive of Meningitis UK says "We are really grateful to all those who came along on this great day out and supported our charity. We would also like to thank Paul Hobbs for organising the Summer Stroll for Meningitis UK."
