Louise Greer becomes the face of Meningitis UK
A nine-year-old girl Coleraine who lost both her legs and an arm to meningitis and meningococcal septicaemia at the age of 2 has become the new face of Meningitis UK's fundraising activities.
Plucky Louise Greer from Coleraine, County Londonderry, officially unveiled the charity's new awareness Landrover displaying a life-size picture of her collecting money at one of the charity's fundraising events.
Steve Dayman explained why Louise is playing such a crucial role for the charity "For seven years Louise and her family have played an active part in Meningitis UK's fundraising activities here in the province. At the end of last year we were fortunate enough to be awarded a grant to revamp our fundraising materials and literature. We gave our design company hundreds of photographs of our fundraising events and straight away everyone was asking ‘who is the little girl with the enchanting smile?'. I'm sure Louise's picture on our fundraising material will encourage people to dig deep to support our life saving research."
People in the region will get a chance to see Meningitis UK's Landrover over the next few days as Steve Dayman tours the area visiting families who have been affected by meningitis and meningococcal septicaemia who are actively involved in fundraising for Meningitis UK.
