Meningitis UK is a charity which represents hundreds of families who have suffered the devastating consequences of meningitis and meningococcal septicaemia.
The charity has a single focus - to find a vaccine to eradicate all forms of meningitis. Sadly, although successful vaccines exist to protect against some forms, there is still no vaccine available to protect against all strains, including the most common form in the UK - meningococcal group B, which accounts for almost 90% of all cases. Through dogged persistent research and with the support of the general public, we are confident that new vaccines can be developed.
